Williamson County GOP Executive Committee Seeks To Remove Conservative

The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

According to a confidential source, the Williamson County Republican Party’s Executive Committee aims to remove Sean Raesemann from the County Executive Committee (CEC).

In a letter dated May 20th, Debbie Ballard; President of Republican Women of Williamson County (RWWC), member of Williamson County Republican Party (WCRP) and CEC member, and Kilyn Scheuler; treasurer of the WCRP, said that Raesemann has “continually circumvented the Party Chair and the CEC to achieve his own objectives and has violated the bylaws of the WCRP and the Tennessee GOP.”

Our source tells us that “the turnover in the WCRP CEC has left few, if any, independent minded people on the CEC” and the effort to remove Raesemann is an attempt “to remove the final conservative voice on the Williamson County’s Republican Party’s County Executive Committee.”

Raesemann is a retired Air Force Colonel and the current 1st Vice Chair of the WCRP.

Our source believes this attempt to remove Raesemann is meant to “push conservatives completely out of the CEC and permit unfettered control over the party before the county general/state primary election in August.”

According to the letter, the reasons for Raesemann’s removal include:

• Forming a vetting committee

• Vetting candidates to benefit a PAC “who actively works to undermine the county Republican Party”

• Challenging the authority of the Chairman

• Recruiting and encouraging candidates to run against Republican incumbents

• Refusing to participate in WCRP events

• Supporting Independents in a partisan race

• Actively working to undermine and weaken the County and State level GOP

• Acting in a way that is “unbecoming” as a member of the CEC and WCRP

In July 2021, Raesemann attempted to exercise his WCRP by-law duties to create a vetting committee for the upcoming Franklin City Board of Mayor and Alderman (BOMA) elections in October. Raesemann says he was stymied in this effort by WCRP Chairwoman Cheryl Brown. The stated reason for denying the ability to create a vetting committee under WCRP auspices was that the BOMA election is non-partisan.

It’s no secret that conservative grassroots groups have been organizing in Williamson County to address concerns regarding school curriculum, CRT, voting integrity, rapid growth, urbanization, and the increasing influence of leftist organizations within the county. According to sources, what these groups have found is “a party apparatus – to include many entrenched local “Republican” politicians – who parrot GOP talking points but in reality do not share their values.”

Williamson County is a solidly Republican county and “a prized piece of any attempt to flip Tennessee blue” according to concerned conservatives.

A request for further information from Ballard and Schueler about Raesemann’s removal was not answered before publication.

TNGOP NEEDS a RINO ousting. All the good bills that were killed this session makes it REAL obvious. If we had a Conservative legislature we’d have TRUE Constitutional carry.

Thank you for reporting on this. I think the Williamson County GOP does a poor job and either needs to be reformed or an alternative conservative organization needs to be formed. They are helping Liberal Dems win elections. Example – there is a man on the School Board who everyone knows is ultra-liberal, but he is running as a Republican and will be endorsed because he registered as a Republican and voted in Republican Primaries. The Dems laugh at the GOP Stupidity – literally – I’ve had them laugh when I bring it up – they think it is funny. The Dems encourage Dems to vote in Republican Primaries – they vote for the Fake Republicans and for people who they know a Dem can defeat (not for the best candidate). At this time, only 3 of the 12 School Board members are conservatives – how did that happen? A lot of conservatives tried to run for the School Board and were discouraged by the GOP and were told didn’t meet the “requirements”, so they are running as “Independents”. I’ve recommended the GOP forms a vetting committee that has to approve the people who can run as Republicans, because the current system isn’t working and is being manipulated by Dems, like the example mentioned above. It is really DUMB and it is weird that nothing is being done to fix the problem – the people in charge are either incompetent or power-crazy and willing to support liberals. It is also a very bad sign that the current executives are trying to replace anyone who complains or tries to improve things. If this continues, a lot of members will drop out and NOT support the Williamson County GOP. Ballard and Schueler need to back off. There needs to be transparency and not back-room political fighting. Unless things change, in coming GOP elections I will vote against the incumbent power group.

But WillCo, your wish has been granted. An “alternative conservative organization” has been formed in Williamson County. Please join me and become a member and supporter of the Williamson Families PAC at williamson-families.org. As you can see by my earlier post, they have already put fear in the hearts of the centrist/tepid conservative Republican leadership in this county and will continue to do so with your help and the help of other Williamson County conservatives.

And btw, please don’t be shy. Many of us don’t know who the ultra-liberal on the school board is and you missed the opportunity to publicize his name. It’s time to “out” these individuals so they can’t continue to hide under the “Republican” label anymore. Happily, we have two more chances to add conservatives to the Williamson County School Board with the Independent candidacies of Debbie Pace in District 6 and “Doc” Holladay in District 10.

Thank you. The person I would NOT vote for is named Eric Welch. I have followed the school board and he is a serious liberal but running as a Republican (shame on the Williamson GOP for allowing that). I’m sure all the liberals voted for him. A very smart strategy – he gets the liberal vote and will fool a lot of Republicans because no one would think the Williamson GOP would support someone who is known by their actions to be a liberal. Ask around. He is in District 10 running against Doc Holladay.

Don’t forget about Del Wright – D4 for school board. He is a Republican conservative but was also forced to run as an independent!

I suspect all of this is simply in response to the conservative Williamson Families PAC (“WFPAC”) that saw seven of the eleven candidates it endorsed for the County Commission and two out of the four it endorsed for the newly partisan school board win nomination in the local Republican Primary a few weeks ago. To make matters even worse, WFPAC has two conservatives running for the county commission as well as two running for the school board against Republicans as Independents in this August’s local general election. I fear the centrists/tepid conservatives who dominate the Williamson County Republican Party are getting the message that the times they are a’changing and they don’t like it one bit.

Perhaps all of this is due to the fact that the conservative Williamson Families PAC (“WFPAC”) saw seven of the eleven candidates it endorsed for the county commission and two out of the four it endorsed for the school board win the recently concluded Republican Primary. To make matters even worse, WFPAC has also endorsed two candidates for the county commission and two for the school board to run against Republicans in this August’s local general election. I fear that the centrists/tepid conservatives who control the Williamson County Republican Party are coming to the realization that the times they are a’changing.

There is NO GOP IN TENNESSEE. There is only the RINO ARM OF THE DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE! Shameful and disgusting. Time to start talking about a REAL CONSERVATIVE PARTY AGAIN. These people are just Dems in disguise.

Either what you wrote or I wonder if all they care about is the money they make and the power they have. They are willing to let Dems join the GOP if they pay the membership fees. It truly looks like they don’t care about conservatives except themselves and their political allies.
