Two additional people have been charged with helping a Tennessee man avoid capture after allegedly fatally shooting four family members in July.
Authorities with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced on Wednesday that 26-year-old Eric Wise, Jr., and 31-year-old Michell Ovelis were indicted on charges of being accessories after the fact. Both were booked into the Madison County Jail.
The two are accused of aiding Austin Drummond, who has pleaded not guilty to four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of James Matthew Wilson, 21; his girlfriend Adrianna Williams, 20; her brother Braydon Williams, 15; and their mother Cortney Rose, 38. The victims were found shot in a wooded area near Tiptonville.
Drummond was arrested 70 miles away in Jackson on August 5. Three others have also been charged with helping Drummond during the search.
Drummond, who has a violent criminal history, was out on bond at the time of the killings. His preliminary hearing was held Thursday in Lake County. Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty if he’s convicted.
