A 1st grade teacher at Fairview Elementary School in Williamson County was arrested Monday and is facing 27 counts of sex crimes against children, including aggravated sexual battery and child rape. The two victims are under the age of 13 and related to Jonathan Ullrich, an 18 year veteran of Williamson County Schools district.
Roseanna Skinner, concerned Fairview resident, received the following message from Fairview Elementary:
Hello Fairview Elementary Families and Staff,
I’m writing to let you know that the district has received information that Fairview Elementary first grade teacher Jonathan Ullrich has been arrested in Maury County.
Mr. Ullrich is suspended from Williamson County Schools without pay. That is all of the information that I have at this time.
In a Facebook post yesterday, she asked for more information from other Fairview residents.
Outraged parents demand to know why Ullrich was allowed to teach in a classroom, and even named Teacher of the Year in 2020, after an investigation into sexual harassment claims against him in 2014 led to his removal as Principal of Longview Elementary School in Spring Hill. According to the Tennessean, Ullrich was suspended for three days without pay at the time, and required to attend harassment/sensitivity training before being transferred to another school, the following fall, by then Superintendent Mike Looney.
Robby Starbuck also shared the distressing news in a Facebook post and offered to help parents get resources for counseling for their children.
“I encourage parents who have children that came into contact with him to talk to their kids in an age appropriate way and ensure he never made them feel uncomfortable or did anything he said they had to keep a secret. It’s a good time to talk to our kids and remind them that they should never keep secrets from parents nor should any adult ask them to keep any secrets from their parents.”
Williamson County school officials issued the following statement, “The charges filed against Mr. Ullrich in Maury County are horrific. The district has no indication that any of the charges are related to his work in WCS. However, families who may have information to share with local law enforcement are encouraged to contact the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.”
The district has also made counselors available to help parents support their children.

According to Children’s Advocacy Centers of Tennessee, 90% of children who are victims of abuse, know their abuser. 60% of those children are abused by someone the family trusts. What parents may not realize is that evidence that a child has been sexually abused is not always obvious. Only about 38% of child victims tell someone about the abuse.

Try him in a court of law. If found guilty, either castrate him or put him down. Period. There should never be any other sentence for these people.
