With an evenly split vote of ideology on the Washington County GOP Executive Committee, the balance of power will come down to a single seat to be determined by an election this week.
The Young Republican Chair Election is scheduled for September 25th at 6:30 PM in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Whoever wins this election will tip the balance of power on the Washington County CEC.

Two chair candidates have emerged to run for the Young Republican Chair, Rachel Mehl and Mason Mosier.
Like Chair Danielle Goodrich, Mehl is a constitutional conservative that bases her approach to leadership on biblical principles and transparency. She is the founder and President of Turning Point USA at East Tennessee State University.

Mason Mosier advertises that he is a leader who listens and possesses experienced leadership skills. His campaign flyer is pictured below.

“I am a Christian, wife, and principled conservative. I am committed to constitutional values and fighting the establishment politics that takes away our freedoms and grows government.
My freshman year of college, I founded Turning Point USA at ETSU – an organization dedicated to educating students on free markets, free speech, and limited government. TPUSA ETSU engages with students on campus every week, hosts events, registers voters, and provides a community of conservatives on campus.
My goal is to empower Young Republicans across Northeast Tennessee to get involved in the fight for faith, family, and freedom.” – said Rachel Mehl, Washington County Young Republican Chair Candidate

The Washington County Chair Commented as follows.
“This is a critical election as whoever wins gets a tie-breaking seat on our split committee. This election is just like my election and the elections across the state, the establishment vs. grassroots conservatives.” – said Daniel Goodrich, Washington County Republican Chair
