A Rutherford County man posted bail of over $1 million Monday after being charged with multiple counts of statutory rape and accused of rape, sexual battery, bribery, tampering with evidence and stalking.

Jason W. Lancaster was arrested and booked at the Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro on September 28, 2023, and has been held there since.

On August 15, 2024, Circuit Court Judge James “Jimmy” Turner refused a request from Lancaster to have his bail dropped to $500,000.

Lancaster is accused of the committing the following on January 1, 2023:

• nine counts of statutory rape by an authority figure

• three counts of rape

• seven counts of sexual battery by an authority figure

• one count of bribe of a witness

• one count of tampering with evidence

• and one count of stalking

In addition to these charges, court records show that Lancaster is also accused of nine counts of animal cruelty occurring on November 30, 2022.

Lancaster purchased Pinnacle Stables in the Christiana community in 2001. He sold the property for $704,000 in June 2024. During the rape investigation, it was found that a number of horses were in need of medical attention, and law enforcement had more than 20 horses taken from the property.

It was at the property where Lancaster, a former English teacher in Rutherford County who taught at Blackman High School, allegedly raped a teenage girl. He is also accused of paying her $1,000 to keep quiet about the incident.

This isn’t the first time Lancaster has been involved with law enforcement.

According to a report by the Murfreesboro Post, back in 2008, he was indicted by a grand jury indicted for solicitation of minor students. He pleaded guilty to solicitation of a minor to commit aggravated statutory rape and 2 counts of official misconduct. As part of his plea, he was placed on probation for 4 years.

Records show that Lancaster’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 19, 2025.
