Assistant District Attorney General Jeremy Ball Appointed As Circuit Judge By Tennessee Governor

Assistant District Attorney General Jeremy Ball has been appointed by Governor Bill Lee as Circuit Judge for the 4th Judicial District which covers four East Tennessee counties that include Cocke, Jefferson, Sevier, and Grainger.

The judicial appointment was announced on Friday, January 17, 2025, by the governor’s office. 

Ball has been active in his community, the Jefferson County Republican Party, served on the Carson-Newman University Alumni Board, Habitat for Humanity Board, and most recently served as a long-time board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Dumplin Valley, which serves the needs of youth in three counties. He attends the First Baptist Church of Dandridge.

Jeremy Ball joined the staff of the Davidson County District Attorney’s office immediately after completing law school and became a prosecutor in the 4th Judicial District as an Assistant District Attorney in 2004 where he served until Lee appointed him to fill a judicial vacancy.

I have lived in this district nearly all of my life, and I’m grateful to Governor Lee for appointing me to this position. I’m pleased to continue serving the citizens of Cocke, Grainger, Jefferson and Sevier Counties in this new capacity.” – said Jeremy Ball

Along with the circuit judge appointment, the governor appointed Melanie Sellers as Public Defender for the 1st Judicial District covering Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington Counties.
