Federal prosecutors are seeking to introduce new evidence in the child sex abuse case of accused serial rapist Sean Williams. This new evidence allegedly includes photos of two additional children who were victimized by Williams.

U.S. District Attorney Emily Swecker and Meghan Gomez filed a legal notice of intent, listing nine different pieces of evidence that they say show Williams participating in “activity…that is not part of the charged offenses.”

According to the notice, the evidence includes information that proves that the victims’ mothers were not aware that their children had been victimized until police contacted them following Williams’ arrest in North Carolina on unrelated charges.

It also includes video evidence of sexual assault against the mothers while they were unconscious and that Williams had created photo “collages” that showed “an innocuous photo of a minor victim or mother surrounded by sexually explicit images of the child or mother.”

Also included are additional details about Williams’ 2023 arrest. He was indicted on federal charges of enticing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of manufacturing child pornography. His trial is set for October 22. He would potentially serve 15-30 years in prison for each charge.

Prosecutors say that all nine pieces of evidence pass the “three-part test” for allowing new evidence: whether the “other act” did actually take place, whether the evidence helps to establish a material issue in the case, and whether the “probative value” is greater than prejudice that could occur.

According to the notice, the evidence helps to establish Williams’ “motive, opportunity, preparation, plan, identity, and the absence of mistake.”

Williams’ attorney is expected to argue that the evidence cannot be admitted, and then it will be up to Judge Ronnie Greer to determine whether evidence of “previous bad acts” are closely enough connected to new evidence to allow it.

The evidence is intended to highlight Williams’ possession of child pornography. North Carolina officers discovered more than 10,000 images of child sex abuse on electronic devices belonging to Williams as they were investigating him on alleged drug charges. Also included were images and videos of “approximately 64 adult females being sexually assaulted who appeared to be unconscious.”

Another USB drive included images of three minor victims and “videos and images of their mothers being sexually assaulted while they were obviously unconscious.” There are also images of two other minors who have not been identified which “appear to be produced by the defendant and depict the minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.”

Prosecutors are also seeking to include evidence that came from interviews conducted with the mothers of the alleged victims. They say this evidence would prove that Williams regularly hosted parties, giving guests free drugs and alcohol.

Two of the victims’ mothers also stated they believed they had been drugged, and one of the mothers stated that she saw child pornography on Williams’ phone that “appeared to be produced by the defendant.”
