The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into claims that a former West Greene High School teacher allegedly stole money from an organization.

The TBI released information to News Channel 11, stating that they were investigating a former employee of the school system for allegedly stealing money from the Tennessee Association of Agriculture Educators.

Christopher Malone, interim Director of Schools for Greene County, stated that the employee was a former ag teacher at West Greene High School but did not identify the employee. Malone stated that the teacher resigned on August 13 after being placed on leave. There is no indication that any funds were stolen from the school.

The Greeneville Sun reports that Malone did identify the teacher to them as Robert Meadows. No information on the amount or how the embezzlement occurred has been released.
