Nashville police have arrested a former Nashville coach on statutory rape charges.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 32-year-old Tyler Forte was arrested on Wednesday evening after surrendering to police when a warrant was issued, charging him with aggravated statutory rape.
Forte, who was a part-time coach at Donelson Christian Academy, allegedly met at various locations around the county to engage in sexual activity with a 17-year-old student from the school. He was 28 at the time the encounters occurred four years ago, 11 years older than the victim.
After the now-adult victim reported the encounters in September, police began investigating. On November 7, a “controlled phone call” was placed by the victim to Forte and was monitored by MNPD. She asked Forte about what had occurred between them and noted that she was only 17 at the time this took place.
Forte acknowledged the sexual activity that had occurred, offering an apology to the victim. He later sent text messages apologizing as well.
Forte was booked at the Downtown Detention Center on aggravated statutory rape charges. He was released Thursday morning after posting a $10,000 bond. He is due to appear in court on January 10, 2025.

Donelson Christian Academy released the following statement to News 2:
We were made aware last night that a former part-time, non-faculty coach at the school, Mr. Tyler Forte, was arrested for an illegal and inappropriate relationship with one of our DCA graduates while she was a high school student. He was employed in the capacity of a part-time coach at the school from 2019-2022. In the immediate, we will work to assist the Metro Nashville Police Department investigation as it progresses, and support our graduate in any way possible.
