Amid a drug investigation scandal, Alderman Justin Stubblefield officially resigned from the Board of Mayor and Aldermen in the City of Decherd on August 1.

The Board accepted the resignation letter in which Stubblefield stated that he would no longer be a resident of Decherd.

Stubblefield’s resignation comes a month after he and his wife Paige were arrested on July 9 and charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance.

He also faces one count of money laundering related to financial transactions that took place during the sale of oxycodone.

The arrest came as part of an ongoing investigation by the Franklin County Drug Task Force into the 2022 overdose deaths of 29-year-old William Sebastian “Storm” Horton and 26-year-old Myles Jacob Kincaid.
