The grants, which are awarded through the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, are intended to promote rural economic growth through engineering and infrastructure improvement.

TNECD has previously awarded more than $120 million through the grant program, which was started through the Rural Economic Opportunity Act.

Recipients of this year’s grant awards are below:

  • City of Bartlett, TN: Bartlett Innovation Park – Due Diligence ($100,000)
  • Town of Livingston, TN: Livingston Industrial Site – Property Grading ($1,000,000)

“What happens in rural Tennessee matters to all of Tennessee, and today’s grant announcement marks another step forward in creating greater economic opportunity across our state,” stated Gov. Lee. “I thank our local leaders for their partnership to drive growth in their communities that will in turn attract future investment and job creation.”
