The Tennessee Conservative [By Olivia Lupia] –
After illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s pretrial release from federal custody in Tennessee last Friday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced intentions to deport him to Uganda after he rejected a plea deal from the Department of Justice.
On Thursday, the day before his release and transport to Maryland where he has been illegally residing for over a decade, the government offered Garcia a deal wherein he would be deported to Costa Rica and allowed to live freely in exchange for remaining in custody through the weekend, pleading guilty to all human smuggling charges, and serving any sentence imposed by the court.
Garcia rejected the deal and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) ordered Garcia to check in at the Baltimore ICE office on Monday, simultaneously notifying his attorneys of their intent to begin removal proceedings to Uganda. The African nation recently struck a deal with the U.S. to receive some deportees.
Upon arriving at the ICE facility, Garcia was greeted by a crowd of protesters demanding his release. Garcia spoke to supporters in Spanish and through an interpreter since he has apparently not competently learned English despite being in the U.S. since his teens.
“This administration has hit us hard, but I want to tell you guys something: God is with us, and God will never leave us. God will bring justice to all the injustice we are suffering,” he said.
Accompanying Garcia into the office was his wife, who has filed multiple times for protection orders against him, but who reportedly had tears in her eyes upon exiting the facility after Garcia was arrested inside. One of Garcia’s attorneys also spoke to the crowd and news outlets, saying it would be “preposterous” for the government to send him to Africa because he doesn’t speak the language there.
Not The Bee pointed to the irony in these statements as Garcia was initially deported to his native El Salvador where he undoubtedly knew the language, has clearly not mastered English proficiently, and noted the official languages of Uganda are both Swahili and English.
Garcia’s defense team is attempting to use the rejected plea deal to bolster their petition to have all criminal charges against him dropped, claiming it was another example of “selective and vindictive prosecution” by the government. They have further filed a new lawsuit in Maryland challenging the removal to Africa, or any other country, while his immigration case is pending.
Per Maryland laws, the suit triggered a blanket court order which automatically pauses deportation efforts for two days, and a federal judge stated Garcia cannot be removed yet because he must first be allowed to exercise his constitutional rights to contest deportation. She also extended her own temporary restraining order barring deportation to ensure Garcia has ample time to pursue his legal options.
But none of these legal machinations appear to be deterring DHS, as Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Monday afternoon, “Today, ICE law enforcement arrested Kilmar Abrego Garcia and are processing him for deportation. President Trump is not going to allow this illegal alien, who is an MS-13 gang member, human trafficker, serial domestic abuser, and child predator to terrorize American citizens any longer.”
Unsurprisingly, Democrat politicians and immigrant rights activists have rallied around Garcia, continuing to paint him as a simple “Maryland dad” terrorized by a weaponized immigration system.
In response, DHS posted a thread highlighting some of Garcia’s greatest criminal hits, including court documents where he admits his illegal residence in the country, proof of his membership in MS-13, and his solicitation of nude photos from a minor.
“Kilmar Abregp Garcia is not and will never be a Maryland Man- he is a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador and public safely threat. It is insane that sanctuary politicians chose to glorify and stand with an MS-13 gang member over the safety of American citizens,” read another post.
The White House also chimed in, posting a political poster image of Garcia with “MS-13” in bold lettering and the caption, “Still NOT a Maryland Dad.”
Due to the ongoing legal hangups, it is unlikely Garcia’s deportation will be immediate, though the Trump administration has made clear they do not intend to back down on their immigration enforcement efforts.

Enough of this publicity-grubbing illegal. He needs to be deported immediately. His smirk says it all.
