“Jim Hammond’s 40-Year DEMOCRAT Voting Record
Raises Serious Concerns with Conservative Voters”
Signal Mountain, TN – Jim Hammond, 80 year-old former sheriff in Hamilton County, has a lengthy Democrat voting record and Republican voters are taking notice. Spanning more than 40 years, Hammond’s Democrat ties have many Republicans questioning whether he is the right choice to lead the party at such a critical time.
“My opponent calls me a Libertarian, despite a life-long Republican voting record. Jim Hammond spent 40 years supporting Democrat candidates and policies. Should Hamilton County Republicans trust someone who chose Jimmy Carter over Ronald Reagan to lead the local party?,” said Greene.
Qualified republicans are heading to the Republican Party Reorganization Convention on March 1st to elect new leadership for Hamilton County. With a strong mandate from the voter box in November and a sweeping momentum of grassroots activism, the results should be interesting.

The Tennessee Conservative reached out to Hammond for comment and he stated that he does not recall calling Greene a Libertarian.
In response to the allegations about his voting record, Hammond said, “I might well have voted for Jimmy Carter many years ago, however, I have been active in and voted Republican for at least the past twenty-five or more years. You will not find more of a practicing Conservative than Jim Hammond.”
Hammond continued, “Saturday is an important day for the gathering of Republicans and Conservatives. I invite all true Republicans to come out and vote… I remain committed to the Republican party and remain true to the same principals I held during all the years I served as the sheriff of Hamilton County.”
