According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Brandon Dean Cole was in a meeting with school administrators on Tuesday when he threatened to “shoot up the school.”

Administrators notified the school resource office and JCSO of the threat. Cole was arrested Wednesday on Connex Street in Knoxville. He is being held without bond.

Tommy Arnold, Jefferson County Director of Schools, released the following statement:

“Jefferson County Schools will take all threats of violence serious. We will include our school threat assessment team and law enforcement to complete a thorough investigation to ensure a safe environment for our students and staff.”
