Tennessee Conservative News Staff –
The Metro Nashville School Board approved a contract on Tuesday to implement a new five-year agreement with Nashville-based security firm Serva.
The agreement, which has a spending cap of $500,000, will bring additional security officers to the district’s campuses as needed, specifically during large school events or when there is a shortage of staff.

The district has been working with Securitas for the last five years to help provide extra security at times when personnel is not provided as a part of the regular school-day coverage.
Increasing safety on school campuses has been a priority for MNPS with the addition of Evolv weapons detection systems at area high schools. Plans are in place to install the same systems at middle schools in the district.
