The Tennessee Conservative Staff –
A new study ranks Tennessee as the fifth most religious state in the country.

Newly released data from the Pew Research Center shows that 44% of Tennesseans identify themselves as “highly religious.”

Only four other states were listed higher than Tennessee: South Dakota and Louisiana with 45%, South Carolina with 46%, and Mississippi with 50%.

The study looked at the percentage of residents who say they pray daily, believe in God, consider religion to be an important factor in their lives, and attend a religious service at least once a month.
Rounding out the bottom of the list were Vermont with only 13%, New Hampshire with 15%, Maine with 17%, and Washington D.C. with 18%.
