Chris Spencer For State Senate Press Release –

HENDERSONVILLE, TN: Chris Spencer, Republican candidate for State Senate in District 18 (Sumner/Trousdale Counties) received the unconditional endorsement of Tennessee Right To Life.

From their Press Release: “Chris represents Tennessee’s pro-life values and will be a consistent voice for those who can’t speak for themselves, said Roger Kane, President of Tennessee Right To Life Political Action Committee. Tennesseans have made great strides in restoring protections for women and their unborn children. Currently, it is estimated that the Human Life Protection Act is saving more than 1,000 women and children from abortion in our state every month. Keeping this law in place has only been possible through the dedication of pro-life legislators. It is imperative to continue to elect to office those who want to continue this life-saving work. There remains much work to do which will require courage and conviction.”

Kane concludes, “Tennessee Right To Life strongly believes that Chris Spencer will be a positive addition to the legislature and fully endorses his campaign for the 18 th District.”

“We are thrilled to have the endorsement of Tennessee Right To Life,” responded Spencer. “I am so impressed by their courage to step away from the status quo and recognize my superior commitment to life in contrast to my opponent.”

Spencer continued, “My faith in God and understanding of the preciousness of human life has always driven me to advocate for the unborn. I am grateful that commitment has been recognized by fellow Tennesseans working every day to protect the unborn.”

In 2023, Ferrell Haile sponsored SB857, which would have added multiple exceptions to the previously-passed Human Life Protection Act, one of the strongest pro-life bills in the nation.

That action alone on the part of Senator Haile underscores his wishy-washy commitment to the unborn,” concluded Spencer. “His assertions that he is supported by pro-family organizations rings hollow against this dereliction of duty. Voters in District 18 and across the State should be certain that I would never fail Tennessee’s children.”
