The Tennessee Conservative [By David Seal} –
When it comes to reigning in special interests and foreign adversaries, the people of the Second Congressional District of Tennessee can bank on the efforts of Tim Burchett (R- Knoxville, District 2) to get the job done.

Burchett, first elected to congress in 2018, has made a name for himself in cutting funds to American adversaries and holding bureaucrats to account for their actions. Two of Burchett’s bills, recently enacted by congress do exactly that.
HJR 1373 aims to hold TVA accountable for posting its board meetings online and provide advanced notice of meetings, including special called meetings.

Another bill deals with cutting funding to terrorists.
“The House also passed my bill, the “TVA Transparency Act,” which requires more transparency from the Tennessee Valley Authority. It mandates TVA to hold at least four public meetings a year so that rate payers in Tennessee and other states know how their money is being spent.” – said Congressman Tim Burchett

From his media release, “Last month, the House passed my bill, the “No Tax Dollars for Terrorists Act,” which keeps U.S. taxpayer dollars from flowing to the Taliban. The bill also forces the State Department to create and carry out a strategy to prevent foreign governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from supporting the Taliban financially.”
Both bills have been transmitted to the U.S. Senate for action.
