The Tennessee Conservative [By Kelly M. Jackson] –

This coming weekend, despite the law passed in the Tennessee General Assembly which has made drag performances in public spaces where children could be exposed illegal, Knox Pride is making sure the internet is aware that they will be moving forward with their celebration/protest.

According to their website, from October 6th through the 8th, there will be festivities that will definitively include drag performances in public. The question is whether or not the local county officials who are in charge of prosecuting violations of the law will do anything about it.

Local reports indicate that Knox Pride had considered canceling the event because of the passage of the new law this past session, but because in other parts of the state, activist federal court judges have enjoined the law from being implemented, outlets are erroneously reporting that the law has been “deemed unconstitutional” and the application covers the entire state. This is not the case.

The Tennessee Conservative has previously reported  the lawsuit that was filed in the district court in Shelby County that enjoined the law permanently only applies to the area where the court has jurisdiction. Which means, the law would still be enforceable in 94 of Tennessee’s 95 counties.

An organization that had planned a similar event September in Blount County, was warned by their county DA, Ryan Desmond, that if they carried out illegal activities, that criminal charges might be the result.

At the time Desmond stated, “My legal analysis leads to me to concur with the state attorney general, both as to the constitutionality of (Adult Entertainment Act) as well as the applicability, violations of the (Adult Entertainment Act) can and will be prosecuted by my office.”

Desmond ‘s warning letter led to an additional lawsuit in Blount County, where more judicial activism was engaged, and the 6th circuit enjoined the law in Blount County.

However, that still means that the law is enforceable in 93 of Tennessee’s 95 counties. Considering Knox Pride is hardly making a secret of their plans for their event, it appears that it would be relatively easy for local law enforcement to inform the organization that public drag shows are still illegal in Knox County and there could be criminal consequences should there be any objectively observable violations.

The Tennessee Conservative isn’t aware of any such plans on behalf of Knox County law enforcement, and no statements have been made that indicate the DA of Knox County has any intention of enforcing the law should violations occur.

We will continue to follow this story in the event that there are any breaking developments to report.

  1. If anyone in Knoxville is going to protest this event please post so that I may participate.
I may protest alone if no one else is there.
Daunting, but I have to declare the unrighteousness of these displays.

  2. i dont know if they doing anything about this but look up knox for liberty, they are active with this kinda thing

  3. Unfortunately, I don’t think Knoxville has conservative activists living here. The DA knows this, thus won’t enforce the law. Keep your kids away from downtown if you don’t want them to learn the sexual culture of drags.

  4. If the authorities refuse to enforce the law, they should be barred from enforcing any laws. Nothing gives them the right to pick and choose what laws they will enforce. Oh, I forgot, their simply following their lordship bumbling Biden. He picks and chooses which laws he will enforce.

  5. We’ve never seen such lawlessness in TN.
It seems we’re living in the wild wild west days…

  6. “We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual powers in high places.” PRAY that the laws will be enforced, PRAY that God will open the eyes of those caught up in this lifestyle. PRAY for bad weather!!!

  7. To those of you who think this will not escalate to further lawlessness, when you wake up? When your children are missing and sex trafficked? “Live and let live,” “just let it go,” “don’t give them attention,” got us to this point. When will it be bad enough for you not to ignore it? If our WWII were living, honestly, those flaunting sexual perversion would have been dead already….and so would the politicians pushing filth on children.

I am NOT saying kill them, but I am saying the closet is where people who threaten family units, sexual normalcy, and children’s innocence belong. They need to be pushed back into the shadows. Rise up, moms and dads. Typing toothless comments won’t cut it.
