Violence Continues To Claim Victims Throughout Memphis

Memphis continues to experience increased violence with a string of homicides last week, recording at least 11 occurring between Saturday and Wednesday.

According to police reports, eight of those occurred in the city limits, while three additional happened in Shelby County.

On Saturday, a student from the UT Health Science center was shot and killed at the Breast Cancer Walk at Shelby Farms Park.

Then on Monday, three individuals were shot in the parking lot of a strip mall located off of Millbranch in Whitehaven. One of those individuals was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, another man was shot off of Ridgemont Road. According to police, he died after being taken to the hospital. 

This year so far, Memphis has seen 208 murders and 256 homicides. The total for 2023 was 269 murders and 318 homicides, and 2022 only recorded 192 murders and 232 homicides.

    Seriously – don’t go there unless you have to.
    And if you go there, take a gun and watch your back – they will sneak up behind you and shoot you in the back of the head.
    There’s a song about it > “Memphganistan”.
    The guy who wrote that song lived in Memphis, but then his friend was murdered, so he moved to Atlanta for his family’s safety.
