An illegal alien was arrested in Nashville on Wednesday after allegedly using a machete to attack his former roommate.

According to police, 34-year-old Everildo Herrera Pacheco is charged with attempted criminal homicide after trying to kill his former roommate, who is also his sister’s boyfriend.

On Monday evening, the victim invited Pacheco and his sister out for dinner and a drink. The three later returned to Pacheco’s home on Revels Drive. Police were later told that the victim had also lived at the home for the past year until he was “kicked out” three days earlier.

Pacheco became upset about something after his sister had gone to bed, and he initially threatened to shoot the victim.

Instead, he went to the closet and pulled out a machete, hitting the victim on the head with it. Court documents show that he allegedly told the victim “you’re going to die with this machete.”

The victim was able to get away and left the scene in his vehicle. He then drove to the Victory Fuels gas station on West Trinity Lane, where he called the police.

According to the victim, he was not sure why Pacheco became upset but stated that it had nothing to do with his girlfriend.

Pacheco’s sister did not respond to requests from detectives for more information.

The victim was treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for “critical injuries.” Documents state that he had “multiple lacerations to the back of his head, and some scratch marks/superficial cuts to his back and right arm.”

Pacheco was booked on a $350,000 bond and will appear in court on Friday.

Inmate records show that Pacheco now has an ICE detainer.

He will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An immigrant hold most likely means he is in this country illegally.
