Authorities in Tennessee Make Drug Bust Involving Big Rig

Ahead of the holiday weekend, authorities in Tennessee made a drug bust involving a cocaine-carrying big rig that traveled from out of state to Nashville.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), multiple local and federal agencies assisted in the joint investigation led by the 23rd Judicial District Drug Task Force and TBI resulting in the arrest of three individuals.

A semi-truck and trailer transporting cocaine was identified on July 3rd. The vehicle traveled to Nashville from Texas. Multiple search warrants were executed in Nashville as part of the investigation. As a result, agents seized sixty-eight kilograms of cocaine, along with thirty-six firearms and three sets of body armor. United States currency and a one kilogram press were also found.

Of the three people taken into custody, one is from Nashville, Perry White, 44, charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine (over 300 grams.) White’s bond is $100,000.

The other two individuals are from Texas. Jesus Garza, 45, from Donna, TX, and Antonio Diaz, 35, from Texas City, TX. Both men are charged with one count of Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine (over 300 grams) with bonds also set at $100,000.

The United States Army Criminal Investigations Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Dickson Police Department, and McEwen Police Department all assisted in the investigation and subsequent arrests.
