The Tennessee Conservative [By Jason Vaughn] –
One Tennessee company says they plan to continue to mandate vaccines for their employees, despite the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against the Biden administration’s vaccine requirements for large corporations, leaving many of their loyal customers calling for a boycott.
Carhartt Inc., a manufacturer of blue -collar workwear clothing headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, says that the mandate is a matter of maintaining workplace safety. The company has a production facility in Camden, Tennessee, as well as merchandise available in numerous retailers across the state. The Camden plant employees approximately 200 individuals.
Employees received an email on January 14 from Mark Valade, CEO of Carhartt. The email reads, “We put workplace safety at the very top of our priority list, and the Supreme Court’s recent ruling doesn’t impact that core value. An unvaccinated workforce is both a people and business risk that our company is unwilling to take.”

Mention of the company increased drastically on social media following the announcement, with many posts bearing the hashtag #BoycottCarhartt.
Retired UFC fighter Tim Kennedy tweeted, “Goodbye @Carhartt” and former Trump administrator Sebastian Gorka tweeted, “Never ever bye @Carhartt products again.”
A spokesperson for the company said, “Carhartt fully understands and respects the varying opinions on this topic, and we are aware some of our associates do not support this policy. However, we stand behind our decision because we believe vaccines are necessary to protect our workforce.”
Readers of The Tennessee Conservative have responded as well, with many noting that they would no longer be purchasing the company’s products and that they were contacting them to let them know exactly why.
CeLeste Shaver Christopher of Madisonville said, “Go woke – go broke. That must be what they want.”
Cindy Hobbs of Sparta said, “Another one bites the dust, bye bye Carhartts.”
Carhartt’s continued vaccine mandate comes as many other large corporations have backed off on forcing employees to receive the shot. Starbucks Corp. announced on Tuesday that they would no longer require the vaccine or weekly Covid-19 testing from its employees. General Electric Co. also got rid of its vaccine requirement after the Supreme Court made its ruling.
Reader Robert Calabretta responded, “Boycott until they reverse for good. Carhartt should uphold the Constitution!”

Huge mistake in Tennessee, this will be interesting to watch. I’m hoping for a major spanking…. lol
Well If there is no Mandate by the Gov’t and the Employer forces the Jab for employment–would the Employer also be liable for any side effects/death/long term disabilities etc., as a result of the Forced Jab by an Employer??? Think About It!!!!!!
Boycotting Carhartt. Their decision is unconstitutional.
put them out of business
USED to be a Carharrt customer! There are a lot of other American Companies will welcome my business.
First thing, it is unconstitutional period. The Supreme Court just ruled that. They should be held in contempt and prosecuted. Second thing, it is proven that the jab does not prevent a person from getting it nor does it prevent a person from spreading it. The the others jabs aren’t effective either. I’m trying to word this so I my message gets printed. This is suppose to be a conservative site but they are very picky with wording just like the other social media platforms. We don’t know the long term effects of shots. It should be personal choice. I know I won’t be shopping at carhart anytime soon.
In God we trust not man!
