Conservatives Hold Summit In Sevier County To Address Urgent Issues – Abortion & Marxism In Education Among Topics Discussed

Aundrea Gomez, representing Citizens for Renewing America, presented compelling information about the globalist effort to create a generation of left-leaning voters. The former public school teacher identified a wide range of buzzwords that are covertly used by school systems to inject Marxist ideology into classrooms, namely social and emotional learning and a variety of critical education theories. “Parents should look for Trojan horses in curriculum including social contracts, social emotional learning, student surveys, groupthink activities, global citizenship, and equity. Parents and grandparents, opt your students out of all surveys.” said Gomez

Vice President of Tennessee Right to Life Angela Maden addressed the issue of abortion, citing successful efforts to persuade Tennessee legislators to enact a “trigger law” to ban abortion, legislation that became law when the Dobbs vs. Jackson decision was issued by the United States Supreme Court. Maden also warned of efforts to undermine the progress made to ban abortion in Tennessee.

“The Human Life Protection Act is working exactly as intended and there’s no reason to change it,” “Since the law went into effect last August, an estimated 900 babies’ lives are being saved each month. Generations of Tennesseans will live because of this law.”

“It is appalling to know that some members of the General Assembly think some children don’t deserve to be born. During his contested primary election, Senator Briggs, District 7, earned TRL’s support by promising to defend human life 100% without exception in his TRL-PAC survey. But now he has broken that promise. For this reason, our Political Action Committee has revoked our endorsement of Senator Briggs. Others, including Speaker Sexton, have indicated that they would be open to these same unnecessary exceptions that would undermine the law. Tennessee Right to Life encourages all pro-life Tennesseans to visit our website page to add their names to our petition supporting this law and contact their elected officials to keep this life-saving law intact defending the rights of all unborn children in Tennessee.” said Maden

Members of Empowered Jefferson, founded by Michelle Light of Jefferson City were in attendance along with their leadership team, whose mission includes pressing for government transparency, helping citizens make informed decisions on candidates running for public office, stopping ideologies that are contrary to the federal and state constitutions, vetting and promoting candidates for public office, and putting a halt to the indoctrination of students in public schools. Empowered Jefferson has also fought to end social emotional learning (SEL) in local public schools, a practice known for its deep-rooted connection to Marxist ideology, a system that depends on student surveys, a vehicle that many activists believe is a conduit for left-leaning ideology to enter the school environment, and one that displaces valuable instructional time.
