Doggett’s Bill To Ban Drag Shows For Tennessee Minors Passes Out Of Subcommittee

The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

A bill that effectively bans drag shows for minors in Tennessee continues to make progress during the current legislative session.

House Bill 0030 (HB0030), sponsored by Representative Clay Doggett (R-Pulaski-District 7), passed out of subcommittee quickly, and efficiently, yesterday and now moves to the House Finance, Ways, and Means Standing Committee where it is scheduled for February 28th.

In a voice vote, the Ayes prevailed, with Representative Johnny Shaw (D-Bolivar-District 80) requesting to be recorded as the sole No vote.

On the Senate side, the bill is scheduled in the Senate State and Local Government Committee also for February 28th. Senator Joey Hensley (R-Hohenwald-District 28) is carrying the legislation on the Senate side.
