Former Administrator Of Elections Running For Wilson County Mayor

The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

Phillip Warren is running against incumbent Randall Hutto in the upcoming election for Wilson County Mayor. Recently retired from his position as Administrator of Elections at the Wilson County Election Commission where he served the voters of the county for 11 years, Warren was approached by leaders of the community and urged to run for Mayor. Warren says “it’s time for new leadership.”

A bonafide Republican in the county for the last 30 years, Warren believes in term limits. “The ability to see a better way can be clouded by becoming comfortable after too many years in office. Limiting the time in elected office, I believe, is a necessary ingredient for good government.”

As a bonafide Republican in the county for the last 30 years, Warren has “experienced the growth of the conservative movement in Wilson County first-hand.” He has been Party Chairman, a Republican candidate, and “an advocate for conservative values.”

A ninth generation Tennessean, Warren has been married to wife Daina since 1984. The couple has lived in Wilson County since 1986 and have two sons, a daughter-in-law and one granddaughter.

Warren was a real estate broker for 23 years before being appointed Administrator of Elections in 2011. During his tenure, elections in Wilson County have continually been improved. He worked with members of the TN General Assembly to offer training opportunities to all 95 county election commissions. Innovation, proactive planning and organization have made Wilson County elections and the election commission the best they can be. All of this was accomplished without a budget increase in 11 years.

“Protecting the integrity of every vote cast, being fiscally responsible and exceeding the expectations of taxpayers and voters in all areas of the office was my mission.” He intends to bring the same kind of enthusiasm and proactive planning for the county at the Mayoral level.

According to his campaign website, Warren’s main objective as Wilson County Mayor is to bring about positive managed growth, financial accountability, service-driven government, transparency in all government operations and an open-door policy in the mayor’s office.

A strong supporter of personal responsibility and common sense, Warren told The Tennessee Conservative on Thursday that he does not believe in mandates. “We’re all essential,” he said. “Walmart is not more essential than the local hardware store.”

Phillip Warren is the correct choice, he adheres to the Constitution of the United States of America and not null and void mandates.
