New charges have been brought against a former Williamson County principal who has already been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual battery and rape of a minor.

Jonathan Ullrich is now charged with a Class B felony of sexual exploitation of a minor (possession of over 100 images) and a Class D felony of two additional counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

These charges come in addition to 27 charges that were filed back in December, which included eight counts of rape of a child, nine counts of aggravated sexual battery, and one count of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

Ullrich started in Williamson County as a teacher for the 2003-2004 school year. He then served as an assistant principal from 2004-2007. He was then named principal of the newly opened Longview Elementary School in 2007 and worked in that role until 2014.

In 2014, Ullrich received a new placement, working in Williamson County School’s central office after it was alleged that he made inappropriate comments to female coworkers. After a year, he was allowed to go back into the classroom.

Ullrich remained in the classroom until he was fired in December after the charges were brought against him

At that time, Williamson County Schools released the following statement: “The charges filed against Mr. Ullrich in Maury County are horrific. The district has no indication that any of the charges are related to his work in WCS. However, families who may have information to share with local law enforcement are encouraged to contact the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.”

Williamson County Schools is one of sixteen districts to be recently named as Exemplary by the Tennessee Department of Education. Parents are questioning how Ullrich was allowed to stay in the classroom for seven years after the original allegations against him, even receiving the honor of Teacher of the Year in 2020.

Ullrich is set to be in court for these most recent charges on November 7.
