The Memphis Safe Task Force arrested a undocumented Honduran man earlier this week for allegedly raping and committing sexual battery against children.
52-year-old Alex Rodriguez, who also goes by Alex Rodriguez-Aguirres, is accused of victimizing children between the ages of 8 and 13.
U.S. Marshals say Rodriguez, who is from Honduras, is in the country illegally.
“From the start, the goal has been to provide lasting protection and safety for the communities and citizens of Memphis,” officials continued. “That commitment extends beyond individual arrests; it reflects a sustained effort to dismantle networks of violence, remove illegal firearms, and, in this case, apprehend violent sex offenders from Memphis streets, ensuring accountability for those who pose a threat to public safety.”
