An illegal alien was arrested in Davidson County after he was identified as the gunman in a fatal shooting that took place outside of a hookah bar in South Nashville earlier this month.

23-year-old Rivaldo David Sis-Tobar was arrested last Wednesday by TITANS Unit detectives and charged with homicide in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Jose Lopez-Rivas on December 3.

According to police, Lopez-Rivas was waiting for a friend outside the Nashville Hookah Bar when he was approached by an unidentified man. An argument took place and a single shot was fired. Lopez-Rivas was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

Members of the community were able to help police identify the suspect as Sis-Tobar.

Lopez-Rivas brother Edgar Lopez, who was at the scene of the crime, was also arrested for evidence tampering and making false statements to police.

According to investigators, video evidence shows Lopez going through his brother’s pockets and helping Sis-Tobar to move his body.

Inmate records show that Sis-Tobar now has an immigrant hold.

He will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An ICE detainer means he is most likely in the country illegally.
