On Friday, October 3rd, a Hamilton County jury charged an illegal immigrant from Guatemala with murder for a deadly stabbing of another man committed 2 years ago.
24-year-old Edwin Mendez-Perez was only in the United States for a few years before he stabbed 28-year-old Rosalio “Charlie” Gomez-Gutierrez to death back in 2023 according to District Attorney Coty Wamp.
“Rosalio, ‘Charlie’, had a family who loved him and they were there for him the entire trial,” Wamp said on Friday. “They received justice today when a Hamilton County Jury found Mendez-Perez guilty of first-degree murder. In my office, we never forget that justice for victims is why we do what we do. We hope Charlie’s family can breathe a little deeper today.”
Prior to the stabbing, surveillance video captured Mendez-Perez at a gas station buying beer.
He also later admitted on the witness stand that he was on crystal meth at the time of the stabbing according to Wamp.
Mendez-Perez fled to Michigan after committing the murder but he was captured by the Wyoming, Michigan Police Department and Michigan State Police.
“They were extremely helpful to us during the investigation and we were happy to have Det. Staman of the Wyoming PD and Trooper Ibanez-Mendez of the Michigan State Police in Chattanooga this week to testify at the trial,” said Wamp. “Thank you to both agencies for their assistance.”

TN has to engage in profiling to find these illegal aliens before they kill, rape, rob, beat, and create chaos. Some will scream “racism,” but those fiery darts can be repelled with the Shield of Faith and the long arm of the law protecting their interests. Interestingly, the supporters of criminal illegals cry the loudest when they are on the receiving end of the crime, but mock others. God is no respecter of persons.
