The Tennessee Conservative [By Jason Vaughn] –
A bill that would clean up voter rolls and aid in election integrity in Tennessee passed the House Elections and Campaign Finance Subcommittee on Wednesday, March 29th.
House Bill 0835 (HB0835), sponsored by Representative Bryan Richey (R-Maryville-District 20), is as stated, “As introduced, requires the coordinator of elections to compare the statewide voter registration database with those of other relevant state agencies and county records when compiling information to distribute to the county elections commissions for purposes of purging voters who have moved; requires the coordinator of elections to compare the statewide voter registration database with the department of safety database to ensure non-United States citizens are not registered to vote in this state. – Amends TCA Section 2-2-106 and Section 2-2-141.”
Currently, there are no requirements for the State Coordinator of Elections to do any type of immigration status check to ensure that potential voters are legally allowed to vote in the United States.
Representative Richey introduced the bill and an amendment that would update the wording of portions of the bill.
The floor was opened for questions, and when there were none, the voting began.
The bill passed on with four ayes and two nays, with Chairman Tim Rudd (R-Murfreesboro-District 34) and Representative John Crawford (R-Bristol-District 1) voting against the bill.
The legislation will move on to the House Local Government Committee and will be considered on their April 4th calendar.

Why did Chairman Tim Rudd (R-Murfreesboro-District 34) and Representative John Crawford (R-Bristol-District 1) vote against the bill?
It seems like a no-brainer to me.
Please ask them “Why?”
If they can’t give a good reason or won’t answer, they should be opposed and placed on the RINO list.
Crawford’s BIG time RINO.
Sadly, TNGOP likes RINOS.
WHY would any American voter oppose such a commonsense bill?
