The Tennessee Conservative Staff –
Authorities have identified an alleged third victim in the child sex abuse case of a Lookout Mountain business owner.
James Coleman Thompson was indicted in June for allegedly transporting a child in November 2000, identified as Victim One, across state lines into Alabama for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.
The incident would bring charges of second degree sexual abuse and second degree sodomy in Alabama.
Records also indicate that Victim Two was involved in a September 2000 incident. This also took place in Alabama, with two separate occasions that would bring charges of two counts of second degree sexual abuse and second degree sexual battery.
A new superseding indictment was issued last Wednesday, alleging that Victim Three was assaulted in 1999 or 2000 in Louisiana. Those activities would bring charges for oral sexual battery.
In June, the FBI released a statement saying that Thompson had been indicted for allegedly transporting minors across state lines to commit sexual assault back in 2000.
However, the FBI also stated that they did not believe these were the only incidents. They believe that Thompson would take children to land that he owned in Beckham County, Oklahoma, as well with the purpose of sexual exploitation.
“Thompson reportedly would bring young boys between the ages of 10 and 15 who were involved in youth wrestling and youth hunting programs to the Sayre property,” the FBI stated.
A plea date is set for September 3 with the trial scheduled to begin on September 23.
