The Tennessee Conservative [By Olivia Lupia] –
Those interested in health and wellness initiatives in Tennessee may wish to participate in a day of education, preparation, and the opportunity to speak up about Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) issues important to them as the MAHA Institute sponsors MAHA Day on the Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The MAHA Institute focuses on “reforming the political, regulatory, and legislative environment to end corporate capture of government and restore its focus on the health of the American people” and provides assistance and resources to many state-level MAHA initiatives to foster community and help rebuild American freedom to pursue health and happiness.

Following Health and Human Services Secretary and MAHA originator Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s recent visit to the Tennessee capitol, the Tennessee MAHA State Council will host the Tennessee-specific day of education and advocacy at the Cordell Hull Building in Nashville, with the event set to begin at 9 A.M.
“Grab a friend (or two!) and join me in Nashville on Tuesday, February 17 at 9 AM CST to meet with our legislators face-to-face. Tell them why YOU care about MAHA issues-real food, protecting our kids from toxins, medical freedom, and putting real health first Tennessee families. Our legislators need to hear from the real grassroots heart of MAHA. We have a BIG voice in this state…let’s use it to Make Tennessee Healthy!” says one supporter.
On the day, participants will hear from and speak with some state lawmakers about their efforts on MAHA-inspired legislation and projects and are encouraged to visit legislators and committee members after the event to express support for MAHA-related bills.
Some particular bills MAHA-minded Tennesseans may find of interest include:
- HB2396 by Rep. Michele Reneau would prohibit fluoride from being added to public water supplies. Another defluoridation bill is also being run by Rep. Susan Lynn and both will be heard by the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Subcommittee for those who wish to contact or visit the legislators assigned to consider this topic.
- HB2076 will establish a special task force to evaluate the prevalence of ultra-processed foods and other harmful substances in public meal programs and their potential health effects on children. It is scheduled for the House Education Administration Subcommittee on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
- SB2423 prohibits public schools from serving food with any artificial food dyes. It will go before the Senate Education Committee on Wednesday, Feb. 18, and the House companion, HB1853 is scheduled for the House Education Administration Subcommittee on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
- HB2392 would ensure AI data centers do not compromise public water supplies, agriculture, or community health through unchecked water use or wastewater discharge. This legislation is set to be heard by the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Subcommittee on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

“Make your voice heard and let your legislators know your strong support for the Make America Healthy Again movement… Show up, speak up, and help us Make Tennessee Healthy Again. See you on the Hill,” say event sponsors.
