The Tennessee Conservative Staff –
An administrator of a Memphis charter school has been charged with harassment and violation of an order of protection.
A woman reported to police in September 2024 that 32-year-old Jamie Williams had been harassing her via call and text message. The woman stated that she had requested several times that Williams stop contacting her, but he continued to do so.
Allegedly, Williams contacted the woman more than fifteen times in a single month, calling and texting her from random phone numbers, including one that belonged to a family member.
The woman obtained an order of protection against Williams but reported that he contacted her again the same day that he was served with that order. She recorded one of his calls as proof.
Williams was charged with violating that order of protection and harassment. He was arrested on Tuesday and held on a $2,000 bond.
Williams is currently employed as the Dean of Students at Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, a charter school with a focus in STEM education. He previously held the same position at both Memphis School of Excellence and Memphis Delta Preparatory Charter School.
When asked by WREG for a statement, MASE Executive Director Rod Gaston replied via email:
“Law enforcement authorities have alerted us that Jamie Williams, our Dean of Students, has been arrested for a domestic issue. We do not condone or tolerate illegal activity or behavior from any MASE employee; however, we also believe in due process and will allow the legal process to run its course.”
