A Nashville woman was arrested last Thursday after allegedly making threats to shoot up a local elementary school.

According to Metro Nashville Police, 39-year-old Sharina Panjwani called Carter Lawrence Elementary School and told them that she was headed to the campus with a gun.

Police officers were on the scene when Panjwani arrived, and they talked to her to find out what had led to the threats of violence. At the time of her arrival, she was wearing an empty gun holster.

According to Panjwani, school officials were unable to locate her daughter for an hour one day during last school year. Because of that, she opted to unenroll her from the school.

However, because Carter Lawrence was a more accessible school for them, Panjwani decided to reenroll her daughter this year.

In her statement to police, Panjwani said that she arrived at the school on August 9 to pick her daughter up, but they could not find her again. She was supposed to be with other car riders inside the school, but the school allegedly put her daughter’s name on the list of students who walk home instead. Panjwani stated that this led to a confrontation with school administrators.

When she later received a call from school officials to discuss the situation, Panjwani became upset because she did not feel the situation was being adequately resolved.

Panjwani claims that no threats were ever made against the school. Administrators who talked to her, however, say that she made statements such as, “I’m coming for you” and “I’m going to pull up and shootout if I need to.”

Panjwani was arrested and charged with a threat of mass violence at a school.

  1. Like Molly says, there must be more to it. Then again, if the school lost my kid not once but twice, the wrong person was arrested. If the story is half true as written, the Principal sits in jail until he names the person directly responsible for the screwup.
