Press Release-

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — State Representative Michele Reneau (R–Hixson) officially announced her reelection campaign during the Make Tennessee Healthy Again Dinner, a grassroots fundraiser and policy-focused event held in Chattanooga.

Speaking to supporters, Rep. Reneau reaffirmed her commitment to defending medical freedom, food freedom, parental rights, property rights, and limited government, while outlining priorities for the upcoming 2026 legislative session.

“The work isn’t finished,” Reneau told the crowd. “Families still need a voice. Small farmers still need a seat at the table. And Tennesseans deserve leaders who choose principle over politics every single time.”

The Make Tennessee Healthy Again Dinner featured nationally recognized constitutional attorney Robert Barnes and MAHA Institute Director of States, Amy Miller, and centered on the connection between health, liberty and accountable government. Reneau used the occasion to highlight how her personal journey — as a mother, community advocate, and supporter of local farmers — has shaped her legislative priorities.

During her remarks, Reneau reflected on her first legislative session, pointing to the successful passage of HB130, which expanded Tennessee’s Cottage Food law. The bill reduced regulatory burdens on home-based food producers by allowing Tennesseans to make and sell time and temperature controlled food products — that can now include products containing dairy and poultry — directly to consumers without inspection or permitting requirements when goods are exchanged person-to-person.

“HB130 was about trusting people, empowering small businesses, and getting government out of the way,” Reneau said. “It’s exactly the kind of common-sense reform Tennessee families want and deserve.”

Supporters of Rep. Reneau have come to recognize a hallmark of her service: a commitment to transparency and accountability. Throughout her first legislative session, she published weekly vote explanations and detailed remarks on controversial legislation in her newsletter, outlining the reasoning behind each decision.

Supporters frequently remark that they appreciate Reneau’s willingness to explain her votes thoughtfully and openly — even when they may not agree with every outcome — noting that her decisions consistently reflect the principles and promises she campaigned on.

Reneau first won her seat with strong grassroots support during the Republican primary in 2024 and has continued to maintain a loyal and engaged base of supporters throughout her term. She enters the next election cycle with that same grassroots foundation as she seeks reelection in the August 5, 2026 Republican primary.

Rep. Reneau proudly represents Tennessee House District 27, which includes parts of Hamilton County including Lookout Valley, Lookout Mountain, Red Bank, Signal Mountain, part of Hixson, Soddy Daisy to Mowbray & Flat Top Mountains. She will seek another term in the Tennessee House of Representatives in the 2026 election.
