The Tennessee Conservative [By Olivia Lupia] –
With the kickoff of early voting in Tennessee seeing record high turnout in many areas, constituents in Shelby County reported errors when casting their votes, claiming they would select a candidate, but the machine would list another selection, no matter how many times they would attempt to change their choice.
Democrat State Representatives G.A. Hardaway (Memphis-Dist.93) and Antonio Parkinson (Memphis-Dist.98) and Shelby County Election Commissioner Vanecia Kimbrow held a press conference on October 17th after receiving numerous phone calls alerting them to the issue.
While Parkinson stated he has mainly received calls from Democrat voters thus far, he assumes Republicans are having the same problems and believes Republican constituents just, “don’t always reach out to [us].”
In 2022, the Shelby County Commission voted 9-4, after much heated debate and against public opinion, to purchase nearly $6 million in new voting machines and scanners.
Though these machines have now been in use for two years, multiple media outlets and the Shelby County Election Commission are citing the irregularities voters are now experiencing as “user error”, claiming the machines have, “been tried and personally tested.”
Linda Phillips, also with the Election Commission, said that voters need to press the candidate’s name instead of the small box that appears in the top left corner, which could lead to pressure sensors in the machines selecting the candidate above the one a person is attempting to choose. Long fingernails or scrolling on the screen were also mentioned as potential factors leading to the complications. She advised voters to use a stylus, which should have been present and available but in many instances had to be requested by the voter or provided by election workers.
Her full statement agreed with Kimbrow’s dispute of any claims of machine irregularities and emphasizes that video tutorials for guidance on using the machines are available on the Commission’s social media.
One X user, @BehizyTweets, posted the local news video and commented, “The official excuse is that the voters clicked on the box next to the candidate and not the candidate’s name. Which somehow caused their vote to go to the other candidate. What kinda nonsense is that? Why put the box there if it causes vote flipping? Isn’t that the whole point of its presence? How many voters didn’t notice the switch? Should we trust the results from this county or any of these machines at all? Hand count our ballots and end this farce.”
In the instances of continued complications, voters are advised not the leave the precinct without casting a ballot but to find a supervisor to resolve the issue or even ultimately opt to use a paper ballot.

Yup, lucifer’s dimmercrap’s cheat/steal machines.
Use a stylus they say or cut your fingernails or push a different box on the screen and avoid the problem. Don’t accidently drag a nail or a finger across the screen or who knows who you will vote for! A simple numbered and signed paper ballot from each voter, assigned when you present your voter ID and sign in the log book, would be easier to use, easier to track and count/recount and to check on voter fraud. Fayette county uses a simple machine with a tape backup/printout that seems to be OK but a simple paper ballot should be the law in Tennessee, for uniformity and accountability. All records should match and that would be easy to assess with paper ballots and voter log in books. I wonder how many illegal aliens are registered and voting in Memphis/Shelby County? They pass out drivers license to any illegal who gets a social security number and register them to vote in droves, been doing that for years. They just ask them to check a box if they are illegal/ non citizens, on the honor system, you know?! Bill Lee and his RINO buddies in the TN. capitol are disgraceful. Thy are enabling all the democrat/Marxist actions and blocking meaningful opposition to our state being attacked in a variety of sinister ways.
