The Tennessee Conservative [By Adelia Kirchner] –

Superintendent Jason Golden has stated that Title IX changes imposed on states by the Biden Administration will, in fact, be enforced in Williamson County Schools.

Although Title IX is intended to prohibit discrimination “on the basis of sex” in educational institutions, the Biden Administration has issued new regulations to dilute the original intent of the federal statute by changing the definition of “sex” to include “gender identity.”

States adhering to these new Title IX regulations would, among other things, be required to allow students to participate in sports designated for the opposite sex and to allow students to use facilities (i.e. locker rooms, restrooms, and changing rooms) designated for the opposite sex so long as that student “identifies” as the opposite sex.

State compliance with Title IX regulations is directly associated with the allocation of federal education dollars.

These changes are currently scheduled to take effect on August 1st, 2024.

Several states, including Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Virgina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas, have filed lawsuits against the U.S. Department of Education, challenging this federal overhaul of Title IX.

Texas has already seen some development on the issue, with Attorney General Ken Paxton effectively blocking the Title IX changes, deeming the new regulations adopting “radical ‘transgender’ policies” to be “unlawful agency action” and “in violation of state and federal law.”

“Joe Biden’s unlawful effort to weaponize Title IX for his extremist agenda has been stopped in its tracks,” Paxton stated. “Threatening to withhold education funding by forcing states to accept ‘transgender’ policies that put women in danger was plainly illegal. Texas has prevailed on behalf of the entire Nation.”

However, in Williamson County, Tennessee, public school district officials still plan to enforce Title IX changes.

The Williamson County chapter of Moms for Liberty put out a call to action on Thursday, urging folks to get involved by showing up to the Williamson County School Board meeting on Monday, June 17th.

“Golden has said he WILL enforce Title IX changes in Williamson County schools so he and the board NEED TO HEAR FROM US!” wrote Moms for Liberty’s Leigh Marshar. “Also, supporters of the changes showed up in force at the last school board meeting so we NEED YOU at the next meeting on June 17 at 6:30 PM!”

Williamson County residents in opposition of the recent Title IX changes can get involved by showing up to upcoming school board meetings and making their voices heard.

The deadline for signing up to speak at the June 17th school board meeting is 12pm the day of. However, this is not the last chance for individuals to make their voice heard.

Williamson County School Board meetings are typically held in the Auditorium at the Williamson County Administrative Building on the third Monday of every month at 6:30pm.

  1. Not so fast, Golden. On Friday, The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals maintains a block on federal rules that goes against specific state law. The ruling allows the 20 states to continue enforcing their own laws on single gender sport teams, bathrooms and locker rooms without risk of retaliatory action from the administration, including the loss of federal funding for schools.

  2. Ah, apparently there is a price to be paid for all that “free” federal money that is going to subsidize the schools that we should be paying for ourselves. Isn’t it about time we conclude that the price is too high and elect state and local officeholders that reflect that opinion?

    1. Perhaps because we didn’t nominate enough conservative school board members in last Republican primary in 2022. I believe we have done much better with the current slate of Republican school board nominees. Now all we have to do is show up in a few weeks to push them over the finish line.

    2. because not enough show up and even pretend to know what is going on in our “safe” Will Co bubble sadly.

  3. Williamson should stop taking Fed money.
    We don’t get that much.
Do that instead of spending $325 million on HUGE jails that aren’t needed. Renovate the existing jails (YES, they can be renovated and they are NOT overcrowded).

  4. We don’t to wait until the first rape occurs, it will and I hope these useless people go back to their holes after we litigate them to death!

  5. Holy CRAP! This from the supposed most conservative county in Tennessee?!

  6. What needs to be done by President Trump if we are so lucky to have an actual fair election and the vote becomes too big to rig is to ABOLISH THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. The Department of Education is unconstitutional . Education is a State’s Right . No where in the Constitution is it enumerated as a Federal responsibility . Just like the abortion issue . The Communist feds have NO RIGHT to push any of their perversion down any state’s throat .

  7. I SUPPORT Golden because he has the guts and decency to stand up to right-wing bigots when he knows he can catch hell for what he is doing. Anybody who is willing to put her or his job on the line like Golden is in order to do the right thing has my respect and admiration. That’s more than I can say to the cowards who like to beat on LGBT kids, minority kids, people of different religions and non-religions, immigrants, labor activists and the like. Golden’s enemies are cowards!

    1. William Delzell took a wrong turn and is living in the wrong state to expose his Marxist theories. Try Virginia, where your moronic garbage might be appreciated.

  8. Well….I just got a personal response from Jason Golden after emailing him. He answered by saying he is opposed to males sharing female bathrooms and WCS policy reflects this opposition. He did not specifically answer my question about males participating in female sports in WilCo until the third reply but said that current board policy prohibits this practice. He asked that I watch more of the WCS board videos so that I would be more informed. SO – I’ll ask Adelia… How or where did she confirm that Jason Golden said the new Title IX policies by the Biden Admin will be enforced in WilCo?

  9. Males are males and females are females and you cannot nor will you ever change how God created you, no matter what meds you take, what you chop off, or what you implant. People are going to face the wrath of God soon enough. Stop pushing garbage on kids and teens and adults.
