An illegal alien suspected in an August shooting that left two people injured in South Nashville was apprehended in Ohio last week.

According to police, 37-year-old Jilber Aguirre-Videa fled the scene of the August 24 shooting that occurred during a birthday party at an apartment complex on Natchez Court.

Investigators determined that the shooting, which injured a 28-year-old man, resulted from an argument between the two men earlier that day. The shooting allegedly occurred after an associate of Aguirre-Videa attacked the victim with a machete.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with lacerations and a gunshot wound. His 33-year-old sister was also injured in the incident.

Authorities tracked Aguierre-Videa to Cincinnati, where he was arrested on September 17. He was returned to Nashville on September 24.

Aguierre-Videa was booked into the Davidson County Jail with a $170,000 bond and now faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and using a gun to commit a dangerous felony.

Inmate records now show that Aguierre-Videa has an immigrant detainer.

He will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An ICE hold most likely means he is in this country illegally.
