Tennessee Bill Will No Longer Attempt To Ban Cold Beer

A Tennessee caption bill that would have banned the retail sale of refrigerated beer will no longer attempt that ban.

Rep. Ron Gant wrote that that “that was one of the many ideas discussed and considered by the many stakeholders across our state as potential item to be included in the legislation.”

Gant was involved in a fatal 2022 two-car head-on crash where the other vehicle crossed the center line and hit his vehicle, killing the other driving and leading Gant to get flown by helicopter to a Memphis hospital, the Tennessee Journal reported.

Gant previously told the Journal his goal is to create a two drink maximum for wine or mixed drinks in the state and a three-beer cap unless someone can prove they have a designated driver or alternative transportation.

Several House sponsors withdrew from House Bill 2845 before it has been assigned or heard in committee.

“I am not going to infringe on the constitutional rights of honest law abiding citizens and be unfair to certain businesses and not others, whether I agree with this idea or not, due to a few bad actors that choose to drink and drive,” Gant wrote.

Too late, Nanny Statist Scum, you have tipped your hand. We know who you are. You can’t hide. As horrific as Mr Gant’s accident was, his bill is nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction from a tyrant. And all the buffoons who put their names on this piece of excrement legislation ( Gino Bulso, Bud. Hulsey, etc.. ) should be ashamed.

Oh sorry did I pointely pick on your feet sweethearts who only look good because everyone is so horrible. Getting praise and being lauded as great statesmen for doing only what they are supposed to be doing.

They are all Leadership Stooges the few faces just change now and then replaced by the same Hacks of a different flavor or brand… they all stand on the soap box of the Second Amendment to pander your votes and make great sound video bites in committee to bamboozle you into supporting them with empty promises.

    A plutocracy with no shame!!

Tennessee if not already a Nanny State will be soon and it’s not the transplant’s fault you have supported the status quo now for well over a decade native Tennesseans..

Go out in 2024 buffoons and vote in overwhelming numbers for unopposed Hacks who scoff at you in corrupt primaries 🇺🇸

Can’t have a Democrat in that seat 🤣

There are more important benefits other than curbing drunk driving. The electricity used for cooling beer in the whole state is undoubtably a huge amount which could be better used by citizens during harsh cold and hot weather. Police time could be better utilized by not dealing with drunk drivers. Insurance rates could possibly lower. I’m sure there are many other benefits were this law actually passed.
