The Tennessee Conservative Staff –
An illegal alien arrested earlier this month on charges of aggravated assault and kidnapping is now being held on an immigration detainer.
According to police, 31-year-old Akeem Daley was one of three men who allegedly attacked a 22-year-old neighbor who they believed was potentially a car burglar.
The victim says the men had an AR-style rifle and a pistol when they pulled up in a car and jumped out. They then allegedly pistol-whipped the victim, leaving him with a severe head wound that required staples.
“I was not breaking into cars,” stated the victim. “I just really wanted to go home and I was praying to God that nothing was going to happen to me.”
News 2 went to Daley’s home on November 20 and spoke to his cousin, Kim Thomas.
She said Daley is currently “not doing well” in the Metro Nashville Jail. She stated that Daley was given a bond but then was told by a bail bond company that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on him because he is a Jamaican national and is in the U.S. illegally.
Thomas did acknowledge to the reporter that Daley was not legally in the country.
Daley is facing two charges, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and especially aggravated kidnapping.
He will remain in the Metro jail until he is released into the custody of ICE.
