Police in Davidson County arrested an illegal alien last week on several charges, including an open case from 2021.

31-year-old Geovanni Alexander Lopez was arrested on felony charges of vehicle theft of more than $10,000 and misdemeanor criminal impersonation, along with failure to appear. He was booked with a total bond of $12,000.

The failure to appear charge stemmed from an incident that occurred on September 22, 2021, in which Lopez was charged with criminal trespassing.

Records of the inmate’s arrest show that Lopez is being held in the Downtown Detention Center with an immigrant detainer hold. He will be kept in custody until he is turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An immigrant detainer means Lopez is most likely in this country illegally.
