An illegal immigrant was arrested in Nashville on Wednesday in connection with a shooting rampage that took place last month, that left two children and one woman wounded.
Court documents allege that Edixon Murillo-Antunez went on a six-mile shooting spree on the night of Saturday, August 8. He began at Cedar Hill Park on Old Hickory Boulevard and went to the 300 block of North Main Street in Goodlettsville.
Investigators say he shot two children, along with four occupied vehicles, in the incident. An uninvolved woman who was driving along Old Hickory Boulevard was also shot in the jaw.
Metro Nashville police officers say that teenagers in two vehicles were shooting at each other as they drove along Dickerson Pike. One of the teenagers involved was shot in the hand.
After several weeks of investigation, Murillo-Antunez was taken into custody on September 25, his twentieth birthday. He is charged with four counts of attempted criminal homicide, 10 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony weapon possession, felony reckless endangerment, and driving without a license.
Murillo-Antunez was booked into the Downtown Detention Center with a bond set at $880,500. However, jail rosters show that he is not eligible for release because he has an immigration detainer hold, meaning he is in the country illegally and Immigration and Customs Enforcement intends to assume custody of him.
