More illegal aliens were rounded up in Davidson and Knox Counties, charged with crimes including DUI, resisting arrest, and assault on a law enforcement officer.

Davidson County police arrested the following individuals:
25-year-old Carlos Ismar Ortiz Marenco – arrested December 21

- Marenco was charged with criminal trespassing and was booked on a $500 bond. He was found guilty of no driver’s license in July 2024 and was also charged with theft, but that charge was dismissed by the state.
32-year-old Eygenio Mejia-Alvarado – arrested December 21



- Mejia-Alvarado was charged with driving under the influence (4th offense), driving on a revoked license, implied consent violation, resisting stop/frist/halt/arrest/search, criminal impersonation, and insurance (evidence of compliance). He was booked on an $18,000 total bond. His record shows a previous charge of DUI in April 2023. He was found guilty on that charge and was given 11 months, 29 days of probation.
23-year-old Jhoel Josue Arevalo-Diaz – arrested December 22

- Arevalo-Diaz was charged with reckless driving, insurance (evidence of compliance), and no driver’s license. Bond information was not available.
Knox County police arrested the following individuals:
37-year-old Eliaz Gonzalez – arrested December 21

- Gonzalez was charged with domestic assault, assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting stop/arrest/search. He was booked on a $2750 bond.
34-year-old Samuel Gaspar – arrested December 21

- Gaspar was charged with DUI: first offense. He was booked on a $3500 bond.

Inmate records show that these individuals all have immigrant detainers.
They will remain in custody until they are released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
An ICE hold most likely means they are in this country illegally.
