Press Release –
COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. — Friday, October 23rd — Tennessee Stands will host an afternoon of fellowship, family and Southern barbecue on Sunday, November 1, 2026, headlined by keynote speaker Tim Barton, President of WallBuilders.
The event, held at Collegedale Commons from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, supports Tennessee Stands’ work to educate, equip and mobilize Tennesseans who are committed to understanding their rights and responsibilities as citizens.
Barton leads WallBuilders, a national organization dedicated to educating Americans about the founding of the nation and the historical and biblical principles that helped shape the American Republic. He speaks across the country and regularly consults with state and federal legislators on policy and legislation.
Guests will enjoy a true Southern BBQ spread prepared by local chef, Mark Lowery. Families are welcome, and children will have plenty to enjoy with outdoor activities ranging from dodge ball to pumpkin painting. The afternoon will also feature a silent auction, event merchandise for sale and a book table with a selection of resources from WallBuilders.
Organizers say the gathering is about more than a great meal. It is also an opportunity for attendees to invest in the work ahead, with support helping Tennessee Stands continue its citizen education and engagement efforts across the state.
“Our Republic depends on citizens who are willing to learn, engage and stand with courage,” said Anne Lowery, Executive Director of Tennessee Stands. “We want families to come ready to be inspired, and to consider joining us in building an informed, engaged and courageous citizenry for the generations to come.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring their families and invite friends.
