Tennessee’s Abortion Ban Leads To 25% Increase In Live Births

As Tennessee awaits official state data, preliminary reports show that the number of births in the state has increased nearly one-fourth since the abortion ban went into effect.
Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Tennessee instituted one of the strictest abortion bans in the country. Abortions are only allowed in the cases of rare medical emergencies.
Since that ban in August 2022, researchers from the IZA Institute of Labor Economics estimate that the number of live births in Tennessee has increased by 24.6%. This reflects an increase of 2,573 births each year.
Tennessee Right to Life president Stacy Dunn celebrated the report’s findings.
“Tennessee law is working as intended and has already saved the lives of thousands of unborn children,” Dunn said. “We are grateful for the legislators who worked with us to make our law one of the strongest pro-life laws in the nation and who made sure it remained strong in the last legislative session.”
Representative Ed Butler (R-Rickman-District 41) proposed legislation during this year’s General Assembly that would require newborn safety devices, commonly referred to as “baby boxes”, to be placed in each county as a way for mothers to anonymously drop off a newborn baby at a fire house or police station.
That bill, with a cost of around $2 million, was placed behind the budget.
The abortion extremists are losing Repubs votes. I know women who are moderates who won’t vote for Repubs because of it. I will never support anyone who would force a girl to have a rapists’ baby – in fact, I’ll oppose you.
Some of the extremists threaten to not vote if they don’t get their way – the Dems will allow abortions for 9 months, allow men to use girls’ restrooms, teach your kids that they are Trans, limit your right of Free Speech, and call you a White Supremacist and put you in prison.
The extremists already had a negative impact in 2022.
What’s next? Outlawing contraceptives?
Since 1975, there have been 20 million abortions – 90% were to uwed poor women. If those kids had been born, the US would be run by Dems.
