The Tennessee Conservative [By Adelia Kirchner] –
A bill to rename the Nashville International Airport (BNA) as the “Trump International Airport” is scheduled for consideration by the House Naming and Designating Committee on Monday, Feb. 24th.
House Bill 217 (HB0217) or the “Trump International Airport Act” was filed by Rep. Todd Warner (R-Chapel Hill-District 92) on Jan. 17th, 2025.
Sen. Joey Hensley (R-Hohenwald-District 28) is carrying the corresponding Senate Bill 265 (SB0265).
Nashville’s BNA is currently named after Colonel Harry S. Berry, the first administrator of the international airport.
This legislation would officially establish a process for renaming the airport as “Trump International Airport.”
Republican Representatives Tim Rudd and Michele Reneau have signed on as co-sponsors of the legislation.
HB0217 is currently scheduled for consideration during the 12pm (CST) meeting of the Naming and Designating Committee on Monday, Feb. 24th, 2025.
