Two Arrested In Wilson County For Voter Fraud

On Monday, March 13th, two individuals were arrested in Wilson County, Tennessee for voter fraud.

Police reports state that Nicholas F. Greiner, age 42, and Kaitlyn M. Wakefield, age 28, were both arrested by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office for “Illegal Registration or Voting.”

According to the police report, Greiner was arrested on March 13th and released the same day at 1:41PM.  Wakefield was arrested the same day and released at 1:39PM.

Wilson County’s District Attorney, Jason Lawson, told the Tennessee Conservative, “These two individuals pleaded guilty to illegal voting, a class D felony, before the Wilson County Criminal Court yesterday and received a 2 year sentence to be served on supervised probation subject to judicial diversion.  The facts as to each individual was the same- they both voted in a district that they were no longer eligible to vote in due to moving out of that district.  Neither had updated their voter registration or driver’s license, and when asked at the polls, both stated that the address on file (the old address) was their current address.”

WSMV reports that Greiner was contacted by an investigator to interview him about the voter registration fraud allegation. Shortly thereafter, Greiner hired a lawyer to speak on his behalf. The lawyer contacted the investigator, who shared the documents supporting the voter fraud.

After viewing the documents, Greiner agreed to waive the grand jury review process and agreed to be formally charged by a criminal information document.

According to Lawson, Greiner will not initially lose the right to vote in future elections since he was approved for judicial diversion program. If Greiner performs well on probation and completes the program, he will not have the right to vote suspended.

It is unclear, at this point, whether the same will apply to Wakefield.

Captain Scott Moore of the Wilson County Sheriff’s office advised us that they do not have any more information about the arrests than what is reported above.
