The Tennessee Conservative [By Kelly M. Jackson] –
The ongoing saga that is the Williamson County GOP Reorganization continues with another chapter, and this time it looks as though the event will actually commence on April 18th at 6:00pm at The Factory in Franklin Tennessee.
As previously reported by The Tennessee Conservative, The Williamson County GOP reorganization has been experiencing some serious issues. This appears to be mainly due to what appears to be an abuse of poorly written bylaws, specifically with the rules that apply to “bona fide” status, a necessity if you want to have any substantive decision making power within the party.
Saturday, April 15th, was the reorganization deadline imposed by the state party bylaws that the WCRP was unable to meet. The Contest and Credentials Committee sent an email out to the entirety of those registered to attend the convention. The email informed recipients that due to what they perceived as misdeeds by state party officials and local grassroots, they would be resigning their duties and would no longer be participating in a mass convention that they believed was “subject to legitimate allegations of fraud, self-dealing and manipulation”.
The WCRP challenged the state party to cancel the event or postpone it once again.
Additionally, those who were in charge of organizing the convention sent several emails over the weekend from various email accounts, none of which were official WCRP email addresses, that accused the TNGOP, and grassroots organizational leadership of nefarious actions with a goal to “hijack” the party all because they “weren’t getting their way”. None of the accusations in these emails appeared to be based in any kind of factual evidence, just speculation and conjecture.
According to Executive Director of the grassroots organization Tennessee Stands, Gary Humble, the accusations couldn’t be further from the truth.
In an emailed statement refuting the allegations, Humble said “Grassroots conservative groups have made very simple requests during this process in hopes of accountability and transparency. However, that has been reciprocated by secrecy, last-minute changes, public maligning, and a complete and total obfuscation of the rules.
In order to promote fairness and a legitimate opportunity to participate, we have asked that the rules for county reorganization per the TNGOP Bylaws be followed. At every turn during this entire process, those rules have been broken by Chairwoman Cheryl Brown and her self-appointed Contest & Credentials Committee who in complete contradiction to the Bylaws took it upon themselves to try and execute on powers and authority that they have never been given. And when taken to task for these errors by members of the State Executive Committee, false accusations of fraud and misconduct were levied.
The 2023 Williamson County Republican Party Reorganization will be held at its scheduled time on Tuesday, April 18th at The Factory in Franklin. We will be there, and we hope you will be there too.”
As of yesterday, April 16th the TNGOP sent out email communications that the event will indeed commence as planned. Included in that communication is the new Contest and Credentials Committee who have graciously stepped up and filled in the gap. Those individuals are:
Brenda Davis
Sandi Wells
Holly Ramsey
Romonte Hamer
Linda Kollmann
Judy Oxford
David Grimmett as parliamentarian

OK my fellow conservative Williamson County Republicans. The time has come for us to put up and show up. Finally, we have the opportunity to do our part beginning with the Williamson County party to making the Republican Party as reliably conservative as the Democratic Party is reliably leftist. Hope to see you at The Factory tomorrow.
Concerning that one of the TN Republican SEC members who makes the decisions concerning the vouching/exceptions the the bona fide rules has not recused herself – her husband is running for party chair abs she is making yes/no decisions for who can/can’t vote?!!! Not even close to appropriate!
Who was on the Contest & Credentials Committee? Who and when were they appointed? Why didn’t they sign their name to such an inflammatory statement? Why was such an inflammatory statement allowed to be broadcast to the entire party membership and specifically to convention registrants via the official party email (controlled by the incumbent chair & 1st vice chair who are running for reelection)? Why is there not a rebuttal to the baseless claims made in this statement? Why were hit piece emails from a third party sent out to the registration list over the weekend? Why is no one calling all of this the election interference that it is? It’s widely known Ted Boyatt was the convention chair–who appointed him, when, and why was this never publicly stated and his contact information made available (as required in the bylaws for a convention chairman)? Was Ted brought in to create maximum chaos like he was in other counties? Too many questions for Williamson County Republicans to trust anyone associated with this current regime. Vote for change.
I agree with this comment by Concerned WillCo Republican
The current leadership of the Williamson GOP needs to be kicked out. They are either corrupt or have terrible judgment.
The proof is that the Dem operatives think they are great and praise them.
Last year they let a well-known Leftist who wants CRT and DEI in schools run as a “Republican”. This Leftist “Republican” was endorsed by the Dem Party even though a Dem was running. Have you ever heard of anything like that?
It’s true. That could ruin the Republican brand and defrauds Republican voters who assume that people running as “Republicans” are either conservatives or moderates – certainly not Leftists who want schools to teach CRT.
