A Sevier County woman is facing a DUI 3rd offense after a crash that left a teen with multiple serious injuries.

47-year-old Julie Huskey, previously known as Julie Ogle, was driving on Veterans Boulevard in Pigeon Forge when her Genesis crossed three lanes of traffic, smashing head-on into 18-year-old Cocke County teen Rocky Robinson’s Cadillac, late on the night of May 21, 2024.

Police reports state that Huskey was slurring her words and that a bottle of Tito’s vodka that was ¾ of the way empty was found in her vehicle.

Huskey’s criminal history goes back more than ten years and involves a number of different law enforcement agencies. She has been charged with DUI twice in this year alone, with another previous charge of DUI 2nd offense in February 2017.

Despite her history of similar offenses, it took over two months for an indictment to be handed down by the Sevier County Grand Jury. Huskey was indicted on July 29 on charges of reckless endangerment, vehicular assault, improper lane change, and DUI 3rd offense.

Robinson’s grandfather, Mark Nichols, says the family worried all through those two months that Huskey would harm someone else.

“My only prayer every night until we finally found out that they had eventually arrested this lady was that, God, please don’t let her kill somebody tonight,” he told WBIR.

As of Monday, Huskey was being held in the Sevier County Jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 13.
